"generalInfo": "The BMW i7 is the battery-electric version of the seventh-generation 7 Series, sold in the U.S. from the 2023 model year. It shares the G70 body and CLAR platform with the combustion and plug-in-hybrid 7 Series, and was launched at the same time as them rather than following later. It is the first electric flagship BMW has built, and it carries the full G70 technology set including the optional 31-inch rear Theatre Screen and power-operated doors.\n\nLaunch was the 536-hp xDrive60 alone. For 2024 BMW broadened the range considerably, adding the rear-drive 449-hp eDrive50 below it and the 650-hp M70 xDrive above. All three use a 105.7 kWh battery and a single-speed direct-drive transmission, and all seat five.\n\nThe battery costs the i7 some trunk space against its combustion sibling: 500 litres, or 17.7 cu ft, versus 540 litres for the petrol 7 Series. EPA combined ratings run from 75 to 90 MPGe with 267 to 321 miles of range, varying with the 19-, 20- and 21-inch wheel choices. Prices run from about $105,700 for the eDrive50 to $168,500 for the M70.",
