"generalInfo": "The BMW X1 is the smallest and least expensive SUV in the BMW range. Three generations appear in this period, and the change between the first two was fundamental: the E84 sold through 2015 was rear-wheel-drive-based and shared its platform with the 3 Series, while the F48 that replaced it for 2016 switched to a transverse, front-wheel-drive layout borrowed from the Mini.\n\nThat change cost the X1 some of its sporting reputation but transformed its packaging — the F48 is shorter than the E84 yet carries more luggage and far more rear legroom. U.S. cars used a 228-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, front-drive as the sDrive28i or all-wheel drive as the xDrive28i.\n\nThe third-generation U11 arrived for 2023, all-wheel drive only, with 241 hp and a seven-speed dual-clutch in place of the old torque-converter automatic. A 312-hp M35i joined for 2024, reaching 60 mph in 5.2 seconds. Every X1 seats five.",
