"generalInfo": "The Honda Clarity is a mid-size, five-passenger sedan built around a single \"3-in-1\" platform that Honda engineered to accept three completely different zero- or ultra-low-emission powertrains: a hydrogen fuel cell, a battery-electric drivetrain, and a plug-in hybrid. Sold in the United States for the 2017 through 2021 model years, it replaced the low-volume, Southern-California-only FCX Clarity and served as Honda's electrification flagship while the company worked toward putting two-thirds of its global sales on electrified powertrains. Each variant was given its own \"hero\" color, grille treatment, and lighting signature so the three could be told apart, and all of them share the same 108.3-inch wheelbase, fixed rear-wheel skirts, and low-drag fastback profile.\n\nAvailability differed sharply by powertrain. The Clarity Fuel Cell was offered only on a closed-end lease through a small network of approved dealers in California, where hydrogen refueling stations exist. The Clarity Electric was likewise lease-only, restricted to California and Oregon, and was dropped after 2019. Only the Clarity Plug-In Hybrid could be bought outright and was sold at Honda dealers nationwide, which made it by far the highest-volume member of the family.\n\nInside, every Clarity is a genuine five-seater with a floating center console, an 8-inch Display Audio screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push-button gear selection, and eco-conscious materials including a plant-derived fabric option. Honda Sensing — collision-mitigation braking, road-departure mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow — was standard on every Clarity from the start. Honda ended Clarity production in August 2021 as its sedan volumes contracted, with fuel-cell leases running on into 2022.",

Deliveries began in Southern California in December 2016, replacing the FCX Clarity that Honda had retired in 2014; the new fuel-cell stack is about 33 percent smaller and roughly the size of a V6, so the entire powertrain fits under the hood and the car seats five instead of four. Published MSRP was $58,490, but it was offered only on a 36-month closed-end lease at $369 per month plus tax, with $2,499 plus the first payment due at signing.",
