North America received the first-generation Fiesta from 1978 to 1980, then the nameplate returned for the 2011 model year with the global sixth-generation car. U.S. buyers could choose a four-door sedan or five-door hatchback through 2019; the seventh-generation European Fiesta introduced in 2017 was not sold in the United States.
The U.S. sixth-generation range offered a 120-hp 1.6L four-cylinder, an available 123-hp 1.0L EcoBoost three-cylinder through 2017, and the 197-hp 1.6L EcoBoost Fiesta ST.
