The Ford Fiesta was Ford's global subcompact car, introduced in Europe in 1976 and developed primarily by Ford of Europe. Across seven generations, it combined compact front-wheel-drive packaging with a broad range that stretched from economy-focused commuter cars to performance variants such as the XR2, RS and ST. Global production ended in July 2023.
North America received the first-generation Fiesta from 1978 to 1980, then the nameplate returned for the 2011 model year with the global sixth-generation car. U.S. buyers could choose a four-door sedan or five-door hatchback through 2019; the seventh-generation European Fiesta introduced in 2017 was not sold in the United States.
