That layout gives the Fit interior volume and cargo flexibility far beyond what its footprint suggests, and it is the main reason the car has a following well outside the usual economy-car audience.
The third-generation Fit (chassis code GK5) reached North America for the 2015 model year and remained on sale here through 2020, receiving a mid-cycle facelift for 2018 that brought new bumpers, a redesigned Display Audio head unit and the sporty Sport grade. Every U.S. car uses a 1.5-litre direct-injected DOHC i-VTEC four driving the front wheels through either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic; there was no hybrid, no all-wheel drive and no turbocharged version in this market. Cargo space measures 16.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 52.7 cubic feet with them folded, and every version seats five.
The Fit sat below the Civic as Honda's entry-level car in the United States, and NHTSA awarded the third-generation car a five-star overall crash rating in every model year it was sold. Honda withdrew the Fit from the U.S. market after 2020 without a direct replacement, leaving the HR-V — which shares the Fit's platform and centre-tank packaging — as the least expensive Honda offered here.

2015 Honda Fit LX
The 2015 LX opened the all-new third-generation Fit line-up and introduced the 1.5-litre direct-injected i-VTEC four with a six-speed manual or an optional CVT. It rides on 15-inch steel wheels and comes with a multi-angle rearview camera, Bluetooth, cruise control and a 5-inch colour screen. Pricing starts at $15,650 with the manual gearbox.
2015 Honda Fit EX
The EX is the volume Fit for 2015, adding 16-inch alloy wheels, a power moonroof, push-button start, a 7-inch HondaLink touchscreen and Honda's LaneWatch passenger-side camera over the LX. Mechanically it is identical to the LX, with the same 130-hp 1.5-litre four and a choice of six-speed manual or CVT. It starts at $17,560.
2015 Honda Fit EX-L
The EX-L brought leather seating to the North American Fit for the first time, together with heated front seats, heated body-coloured mirrors and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. It is sold only with the CVT, so its EPA rating is 32/38 mpg. The 2015 price is $19,925.
2015 Honda Fit EX-L with Navi
The range-topping 2015 Fit adds Honda's factory satellite navigation with voice recognition to the EX-L, and is likewise CVT-only. Everything else — leather, heated seats, moonroof, LaneWatch — carries over unchanged. At $20,925 it is the only Fit that breaks $20,000 before destination.

2016 Honda Fit LX
The 2016 LX carries over the third-generation Fit's 1.5-litre direct-injected i-VTEC four, six-speed manual and optional CVT unchanged, with the same EPA numbers as 2015. Equipment is unchanged too: 15-inch steel wheels, multi-angle rearview camera, Bluetooth and a 5-inch colour screen. Honda raised every 2016 Fit price by a uniform $240, putting the manual LX at $15,890.
2016 Honda Fit EX
The 2016 EX is a straight carry-over of the 2015 car, adding 16-inch alloys, a power moonroof, push-button start, a 7-inch HondaLink touchscreen and LaneWatch to the LX. The 130-hp 1.5-litre four and the choice of six-speed manual or paddle-shift CVT are unchanged. Prices rose $240 to $17,800 for the manual.
2016 Honda Fit EX-L
The 2016 EX-L keeps the leather seating, heated front seats, heated mirrors and leather-wrapped wheel that made it the plushest Fit, and remains CVT-only at 32/38 mpg. Nothing mechanical changed for 2016. It lists at $20,165, $240 more than the year before.
2016 Honda Fit EX-L with Navi
Honda's factory satellite navigation with voice recognition remains a $1,000 step above the EX-L and again defines the top of the 2016 Fit range. It is CVT-only and otherwise identical to the EX-L. The 2016 price is $21,165.

2017 Honda Fit LX
The 2017 LX is the last pre-facelift Fit and is mechanically identical to the 2016 car, but its EPA highway figure fell by 1 mpg to 33/40 mpg with the CVT and 29/36 mpg with the six-speed manual. Standard kit is unchanged: 15-inch steel wheels, multi-angle rearview camera, Bluetooth and a 5-inch colour screen. Honda raised every 2017 Fit price a uniform $200, so the manual LX opens at $16,090.
2017 Honda Fit EX
The 2017 EX again bundles 16-inch alloys, a power moonroof, push-button start, a 7-inch HondaLink touchscreen and LaneWatch on top of the LX. The 130-hp 1.5-litre four and the manual-or-CVT choice carry over, with EPA figures trimmed to 32/37 mpg for the CVT. It starts at $18,000 with the manual.
2017 Honda Fit EX-L
The 2017 EX-L is unchanged: leather seating, heated front seats, heated mirrors and a leather-wrapped wheel, sold only with the CVT and rated 32/37 mpg. It is the last EX-L before the 2018 facelift added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The price is $20,365.
2017 Honda Fit EX-L with Navi
Factory satellite navigation with voice recognition again tops the Fit range for $1,000 over the EX-L, and is CVT-only. Everything else matches the EX-L. At $21,365 this is the most expensive 2017 Fit before destination.

2018 Honda Fit LX
The facelifted 2018 LX gains reshaped bumpers and, for the first time on a Fit, an optional Honda Sensing driver-assist package on CVT cars. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC four is now rated 130 hp with the manual and 128 hp with the CVT. Equipment stays basic — 15-inch steel wheels, a 5-inch colour screen and a four-speaker stereo — and pricing opens at $16,190.
2018 Honda Fit Sport
New for 2018, the Sport slots between LX and EX and is the styling trim of the range: a body kit with an underbody spoiler, gloss-black 16-inch alloys, fog lights, a chrome exhaust finisher and orange stitching on black cloth seats. It is also the cheapest Fit with the new 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Prices start at $17,500 with the six-speed manual.
2018 Honda Fit EX
The 2018 EX takes the Sport's 7-inch Display Audio system and adds 16-inch machine-finished alloys, a power moonroof, push-button start and walk-away auto locking. Honda Sensing is standard on the CVT version, and a six-speed manual is still offered. It lists at $18,160 with the manual.

The 2019 LX is a straight carry-over of the facelifted 2018 car, with identical MSRPs — only the destination charge rose, from $890 to $920. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC four makes 130 hp with the six-speed manual and 128 hp with the CVT, and Honda Sensing remains a $1,000 option on CVT cars. It opens at $16,190.
2019 Honda Fit Sport
In its second year the Sport is unchanged and unchanged in price at $17,500 with the manual. It keeps the underbody spoiler and body kit, gloss-black 16-inch alloys, fog lights, chrome exhaust finisher and orange-stitched cloth seats, plus the 7-inch Display Audio screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
2019 Honda Fit EX
The 2019 EX again pairs the 7-inch Display Audio system with 16-inch machine-finished alloys, a power moonroof, push-button start and walk-away auto locking, and Honda Sensing is standard on the CVT. This is the last year the EX could be ordered with the six-speed manual. It starts at $18,160.

The Sport signs off in 2020 with its body kit, underbody spoiler, gloss-black 16-inch alloys, fog lights, chrome exhaust finisher and orange-stitched cloth seats intact, plus the 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Honda Sensing is no longer available on it, and the price rose $100 to $17,600 with the manual.
