Honda Prologue — Specs, Trims, Prices & Owner Reviews

The Honda Prologue is Honda's first high-volume battery-electric vehicle for North America, a two-row mid-size crossover developed jointly with General Motors and built at GM's Ramos Arizpe plant in Coahuila, Mexico. It rides on GM's BEV3 architecture with an Ultium lithium-ion battery, sharing frame rails, floor, suspension subframes and firewall with the Chevrolet Blazer EV and Acura ZDX, but Honda's Los Angeles design studio drew all of the sheetmetal and Honda engineers tuned the steering, springs and dampers separately from the Chevrolet.

Honda Prologue: General Information

The U.S. lineup is built around three trims — EX, Touring and Elite — with a single-motor front-wheel-drive layout on EX and Touring and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive option that is standard on the Elite. Every Prologue uses the same 85 kWh pack, an 11.5 kW onboard AC charger and DC fast charging, and every one is rated to tow 1,500 pounds. The cabin pairs an 11-inch digital gauge display with an 11.3-inch touchscreen running Google built-in, and unlike GM's own versions it keeps wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A column-mounted drive selector frees up a two-tier centre console with a vertical wireless phone charger, and heated front seats, dual-zone climate and 45-watt USB-C ports in both rows are standard across the range.

The formula worked commercially: the Prologue was among the best-selling non-Tesla EVs in America during its first full year on sale. Reviewers consistently praise its quiet, composed ride and its polished one-pedal driving, while criticising cargo volume that trails smaller crossovers and DC charging speeds that top out well below its rivals. Because the model depends on GM's platform, Honda has confirmed the Prologue ends after the 2026 model year, with GM winding down production in December 2026 as Honda's in-house 0 Series electric SUVs take over.
