The Hyundai Elantra N is the full-fat performance version of the seventh-generation (CN7) Elantra compact sedan, announced in July 2021 and sold in the United States from the 2022 model year. It wears the Avante N badge in South Korea and the i30 Sedan N badge in Australia, is built alongside the standard car in Ulsan, and sits at the affordable end of Hyundai's N performance range below the Ioniq 5 N. Unlike the softer Elantra N Line, it is a fully re-engineered car rather than an appearance package.
Every Elantra N uses a 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged four with a larger 52 mm turbine wheel, rated at 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque; on dual-clutch cars the N Grin Shift function overboosts it to 286 hp for 20 seconds at a time. Buyers choose a six-speed manual or an eight-speed wet dual-clutch, and the chassis gets reinforced strut mounts, added body rigidity, stiffer anti-roll bars, bigger brakes, an electronically controlled torque-vectoring limited-slip differential, 245/35R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and an independent multi-link rear axle with adjustable toe and camber in place of the ordinary Elantra's torsion beam. Hyundai facelifted the car for 2024 with new front and rear bumpers, dual-projector LED headlights, fresh 19-inch wheels, revised engine mounts and newly standard rear side-impact airbags.
