It is the second N-badged electric car after the Ioniq 5 N, and the production answer to the RN22e rolling laboratory that Hyundai showed at N Day in July 2022. Where the standard Ioniq 6 is tuned for aerodynamic efficiency, the N is tuned for the track: it is wider, sits on bespoke lightweight wheels and performance tires, and adds a large ducktail rear wing and enlarged front air intakes to the facelifted Ioniq 6 body.
Mechanically it borrows the Ioniq 5 N's hardware. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain draws on an 84.0-kWh battery and produces up to 641 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque when N Grin Boost is engaged, enough for a claimed 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and a 160-mph top speed. The rear motor gets a limited-slip differential, and the chassis is reworked with adaptive dampers, hydraulic bushings, additional bracing and extended structural adhesive. It also inherits N's software theatre: N e-Shift, which simulates an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox by momentarily cutting motor output; N Active Sound+ synthetic engine noise; N Drift Optimizer; and N Grin Boost, a ten-second overboost.
In the United States the Ioniq 6 N carries unusual significance. Hyundai cancelled the facelifted mainstream Ioniq 6 for the American market after 2025, citing slow sales, import tariffs and the loss of federal EV incentives, so from the 2026 model year the N is the only Ioniq 6 sold here — and in limited numbers. Korean production began in 2026. It charges through a NACS port at up to 240 kW, giving a 10-to-80-percent top-up in roughly 18 minutes, and Hyundai quotes an estimated range of a little over 230 miles. Curb weight is about 4,600 pounds. As of August 2026 Hyundai had not published U.S. pricing or final EPA figures for the car.
