Launch was the 536-hp xDrive60 alone. For 2024 BMW broadened the range considerably, adding the rear-drive 449-hp eDrive50 below it and the 650-hp M70 xDrive above. All three use a 105.7 kWh battery and a single-speed direct-drive transmission, and all seat five.
The battery costs the i7 some trunk space against its combustion sibling: 500 litres, or 17.7 cu ft, versus 540 litres for the petrol 7 Series. EPA combined ratings run from 75 to 90 MPGe with 267 to 321 miles of range, varying with the 19-, 20- and 21-inch wheel choices. Prices run from about $105,700 for the eDrive50 to $168,500 for the M70.
