BMW X7: General Information

The BMW X7 is the brand's largest SUV and its first true three-row luxury SUV, launched for the 2019 model year to compete with the Mercedes GLS and Range Rover. It shares the CLAR platform and Spartanburg assembly line with the X5 but rides on a 122.2-inch wheelbase and seats seven, or six with optional second-row captain's chairs.

The range opened with the 335-hp xDrive40i and the 456-hp xDrive50i, the latter replaced for 2020 by the 523-hp M50i. A 2023 facelift brought split headlights, a curved display, mild-hybrid assistance across the range, 375 hp for the xDrive40i and the renamed M60i.

Every X7 is all-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic and two-axle air suspension as standard. EPA economy runs from 17 to 23 mpg combined depending on engine and year.
