The BMW X7 is the brand's largest SUV and its first true three-row luxury SUV, launched for the 2019 model year to compete with the Mercedes GLS and Range Rover. The range opened with the 335-hp xDrive40i and the 456-hp xDrive50i, the latter replaced for 2020 by the 523-hp M50i. A 2023 facelift brought split headlights, a curved display, mild-hybrid assistance across the range, 375 hp for the xDrive40i and the renamed M60i.
Every X7 is all-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic and two-axle air suspension as standard. EPA economy runs from 17 to 23 mpg combined depending on engine and year.
