The Ford Flex was a three-row full-size crossover sold for the 2009-2019 model years. Developed from Ford's Fairlane concept and styled under Peter Horbury, it combined a low, wagon-like profile and distinctive horizontal body grooves with conventional front-hinged doors and seating for six or seven.
Built on Ford's D4 unibody platform, the Flex offered front- or all-wheel drive and two 3.5L V6 engines. The naturally aspirated engine rose from 262 hp at launch to 287 hp for 2013, while the available twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 arrived for 2010 and reached 365 hp for 2013; both engines used six-speed automatic transmissions.
