It launched in November 2009 as the Accord Crosstour and dropped the Accord prefix for the 2012 model year, by which point Honda was marketing it as a stand-alone model rather than an Accord derivative. Every U.S. car was built at Honda's East Liberty, Ohio plant.
Buyers chose between a 2.4-litre i-VTEC four with a five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, or a 3.5-litre i-VTEC V6 with a six-speed automatic, Variable Cylinder Management and the option of Honda's Real Time 4WD system. Because it rides on Accord underpinnings the Crosstour drives more like a large hatchback than a truck-based SUV — quiet, composed and comfortable — while offering 25.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and 51.3 cubic feet with them folded, plus a hidden underfloor storage bin and a reversible cargo panel.
The Crosstour's styling was polarising and sales never met Honda's expectations; the sloping roof also ate into rear headroom and rearward visibility. Honda announced on 8 April 2015 that it would end Crosstour production at the close of the 2015 model year to free up Ohio capacity for the CR-V and Acura crossovers, and the last car was built on 31 August 2015. Only 9,104 were sold in the United States in that final year.

2015 Honda Crosstour EX
The entry 2015 Crosstour pairs the 192-hp 2.4-litre i-VTEC four with a five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, and is the only way into the range under $30,000. Standard kit includes 18-inch alloys, a power moonroof, dual-zone climate control, a rearview camera and an 8-inch information screen. MotorTrend described the 2015 car as unchanged from 2014; it starts at $27,530.
2015 Honda Crosstour EX-L
The four-cylinder EX-L adds leather-trimmed seating, heated front seats, a power tailgate, a 10-speaker premium audio system and LaneWatch to the EX, while keeping the 192-hp 2.4-litre engine, five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It is priced at $31,215 for 2015.
2015 Honda Crosstour EX-L Navi
Adding Honda's satellite navigation with voice recognition to the four-cylinder EX-L costs $2,100 and brings forward-collision and lane-departure warning with it. The powertrain is unchanged — 2.4-litre four, five-speed automatic, front-wheel drive — and the price is $33,315.
2015 Honda Crosstour EX V-6
Stepping up to the 3.5-litre V6 brings 278 hp, a six-speed automatic and Variable Cylinder Management, which shuts down cylinders at cruise so highway economy only drops to 30 mpg. The EX V-6 is front-wheel drive only and keeps the EX's cloth interior and 18-inch alloys. It lists at $31,190 — $3,660 above the four-cylinder EX.
2015 Honda Crosstour EX-L V-6
The V6 EX-L combines the 278-hp engine and six-speed automatic with leather seating, heated front seats, a power tailgate and LaneWatch, and is the cheapest Crosstour available with Honda's Real Time 4WD. Front-drive cars start at $33,840; adding four-wheel drive costs $1,450 and trims economy to 19/28 mpg.
2015 Honda Crosstour EX-L Navi V-6
The flagship Crosstour adds satellite navigation, forward-collision warning and lane-departure warning to the V6 EX-L. In Real Time 4WD form at $37,390 it is the most expensive Crosstour Honda ever sold in the United States, and the last one built — production ended on 31 August 2015.
