Hyundai Palisade: General Information
The Hyundai Palisade is the brand's flagship three-row mid-size crossover SUV, unveiled at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show and sold in the United States since the 2020 model year. The first-generation LX2 car ran from 2020 through 2025 with a single powertrain: a 3.8-liter Lambda II direct-injected V6 making 291 hp and 262 lb-ft, an eight-speed automatic, and a choice of front-wheel drive or HTRAC all-wheel drive. Hyundai added the range-topping Calligraphy trim for 2021, gave the car a substantial facelift for 2023 (new grille and LED lighting signature, a 12-inch touchscreen, standard rear side-impact airbags and a new XRT appearance trim), slotted in a Calligraphy Night Edition for 2024 and an SEL Premium for 2025. The second-generation LX3 arrived for 2026 with boxier styling, a longer wheelbase, a 287-hp 3.5-liter Smartstream V6, the nameplate's first hybrid (a 329-hp 2.5-liter turbo four), a proper XRT Pro off-road trim and a ten-airbag cabin.
What the Palisade has always sold on is content per dollar: Nappa leather, ventilated second-row seats, a head-up display and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon system for tens of thousands less than a comparably equipped luxury badge. It is rated to tow 5,000 pounds, holds 18 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row and more than 86 with everything folded, and has earned NHTSA's five-star overall score and IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ awards in most model years. EPA figures run 19-22 mpg combined for the V6 and up to 34 mpg for the 2026 hybrid, and U.S. base prices have spanned roughly $32,000 to $59,000.

2020 Hyundai Palisade SE
The SE is the launch-year entry point to Hyundai's brand-new flagship SUV, opening at $31,975 with front-wheel drive. It is the only 2020 Palisade with a second-row bench as standard, so it is also the only one that seats eight. Power comes from the same 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic used across the range, and even at this price the SmartSense driver-assist suite — automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise and driver attention warning — is standard.
2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL
The SEL is the volume trim at $33,925, adding the safety and convenience kit most buyers actually want for under $2,000 over an SE. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped wheel, proximity key with push-button start and remote start all become standard, and second-row captain's chairs are a no-cost swap that drops seating to seven. Mechanically it is identical to the SE — 291-hp 3.8-liter V6, eight-speed automatic, front- or all-wheel drive.
2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited
The Limited is the 2020 range-topper at $45,125, and it is the trim that made reviewers start comparing the Palisade to luxury three-rows costing $20,000 more. It is captain's-chairs-only, so it seats seven, and it piles on Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, a power-folding third row, self-leveling rear suspension, a dual sunroof, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon system. The 3.8-liter V6 is unchanged, and MotorTrend timed an all-wheel-drive example to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds.

2021 Hyundai Palisade SE
The 2021 SE carries over unchanged mechanically at $32,675, up $700 on the launch-year car. It is still the only Palisade with a standard second-row bench and therefore the only eight-seater, and it still runs the 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 through an eight-speed automatic. Hyundai's SmartSense package — automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-following assist, stop-and-go adaptive cruise and driver attention warning — remains standard at this price.
2021 Hyundai Palisade SEL
At $35,325 the 2021 SEL costs $1,400 more than the 2020 car but picks up extra standard content along the way. It adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped wheel and proximity entry with push-button start over the SE, and Highway Driving Assist lane centering is optional here for the first time. Second-row captain's chairs remain a no-cost swap that drops seating to seven.
2021 Hyundai Palisade Limited
The Limited holds at $45,275 for 2021, only $150 above the 2020 car, and is no longer the top of the range now that Calligraphy sits above it. It remains a seven-seater with Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, a power-folding third row, self-leveling rear suspension, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, head-up display, 360-degree camera and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio. 2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
Calligraphy is the headline change for 2021 — a new range-topping trim at $46,200 that pushes the Palisade into near-luxury territory. Over the Limited it adds a trim-specific mesh grille, exclusive 20-inch alloys, revised exterior lighting, quilted Nappa leather seating, suede door panels and headliner, and a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The powertrain is untouched: 291-hp 3.8-liter V6, eight-speed automatic, front- or all-wheel drive.

2022 Hyundai Palisade SE
The 2022 SE starts at $33,600, up $925 on the 2021 car, and benefits from the year's big equipment change: blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic alert and safe exit assist all become standard on every trim, including this one. Turn-signal side mirrors are now standard too. The 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic carry over untouched, and the SE remains the only Palisade with a standard second-row bench.
2022 Hyundai Palisade SEL
At $35,950 the SEL is the value pick of the 2022 range, only $2,350 above an SE but with heated front seats, power driver's lumbar, proximity entry with push-button start and remote start, and a leather-wrapped wheel. MotorTrend timed a front-drive 2022 Palisade to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds. Second-row captain's chairs remain a no-cost swap, and a $475 factory hitch unlocks the full 5,000-pound tow rating on both drivetrains.

The Limited moves to $45,840 for 2022, a $565 bump, and remains the last pre-facelift version of Hyundai's near-luxury three-row. Standard kit includes Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, a power-folding third row, self-leveling rear suspension, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, head-up display, 360-degree camera and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio. It is a seven-seater only.
2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
In its second year the Calligraphy lists at $47,290, up $1,090, and loses only its Dark Brown interior colorway. Everything else stays: the trim-specific mesh grille, exclusive 20-inch wheels, quilted Nappa leather, suede door inserts and microfiber-suede headliner that made it Hyundai's answer to a $60,000 luxury three-row. Powertrain is the familiar 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic.

2023 Hyundai Palisade SE
2023 brings the Palisade's mid-cycle facelift, and the SE inherits all of it at $35,900 — a steep $2,300 jump over the 2022 car. Outside there is a wider grille framed by new LED lighting strips and fresh wheel designs; inside a redesigned instrument panel and steering wheel. Most importantly, rear side-impact airbags become standard across the range, taking the count to nine, and the eight-speed automatic gains a tow mode. EPA highway improves by 1 mpg to 27.
2023 Hyundai Palisade SEL
The SEL lists at $38,900 for 2023 and remains the sweet spot, pairing the facelift's new hardware with heated front seats, proximity entry, remote start and blind-spot monitoring. New this year across the range are a digital rearview mirror, a more powerful wireless charging pad, an improved Bluelink app and a Digital Key that lets a phone unlock and start the car. Second-row captain's chairs are still a no-cost swap.
2023 Hyundai Palisade XRT
XRT is new for 2023 and sits just above the SEL at $41,200 (early-build cars listed at $40,250). Despite the name it is an appearance grade rather than an off-roader — there is no extra ground clearance and no special tires. What you get is black roof rails, a dark-finish grille, dark 20-inch alloys, revised front and rear fascias with skid-plate styling, a power sunroof and black faux-leather seats.
2023 Hyundai Palisade Limited
The Limited climbs to $47,450 for 2023, a $1,610 increase, and gains the facelift's larger 12.0-inch navigation touchscreen along with heated third-row seats and a digital rearview mirror. It remains a seven-seat, captain's-chairs-only proposition with Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, a power-folding third row and self-leveling rear suspension.
2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
At $49,850 the facelifted Calligraphy is the most convincing luxury impersonation Hyundai had built to that point; MotorTrend ran an all-wheel-drive example to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and gave it the win in a seven-way three-row comparison. It layers quilted Nappa leather, suede door inserts and a microfiber-suede headliner over the Limited's equipment, and 2023 adds the new Robust Emerald paint option.
2024 Hyundai Palisade
2024 Hyundai Palisade SE
The 2024 SE opens at $36,650, $750 above the 2023 car, with the facelifted body and nine-airbag cabin carried straight over. The 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic are unchanged, though EPA highway settles back to 26 mpg with front-wheel drive. It is still the only Palisade fitted with a second-row bench as standard, and therefore the only one that seats eight.
2024 Hyundai Palisade SEL
At $39,400 the SEL adds $2,750 of equipment over the SE: heated front seats, power driver's lumbar, proximity entry with push-button and remote start, a leather-wrapped wheel and second-row captain's chairs as standard on seven-seat builds. The second-row bench remains available at no cost, making the SEL the only 2024 Palisade that can be ordered either way.
2024 Hyundai Palisade XRT
In its second year the XRT lists at $41,800, up $600, and continues as a dark-trimmed appearance grade rather than a genuine off-roader. Black roof rails, a dark-finish grille, dark 20-inch alloys, skid-plate-look fascias, a power sunroof and black faux-leather seating are the signatures. Mechanically it is identical to every other 2024 Palisade.
2024 Hyundai Palisade Limited
The Limited is $47,950 for 2024, a modest $500 increase, and is the cheapest way into the Palisade's genuinely luxurious hardware: Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, heated third row, a power-folding third row, self-leveling rear suspension, a 12.0-inch navigation screen, head-up display, 360-degree camera and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio.
2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
Calligraphy opens at $50,350 for 2024 and gains a new dark-themed sibling: the Calligraphy Night Edition, an all-wheel-drive-only model at $53,850 that blacks out the exterior brightwork and wheels. Standard Calligraphy content is unchanged — quilted Nappa leather, suede door inserts, a microfiber-suede headliner and a trim-specific grille. MotorTrend recorded 6.9 seconds to 60 mph in an all-wheel-drive Calligraphy.
2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition
New for 2024, the Calligraphy Night Edition is the darkest and most expensive Palisade yet at $53,850, and it is sold only with HTRAC all-wheel drive. It takes the standard Calligraphy and blacks out the grille, badging, mirror caps, roof rails and 20-inch wheels, and pairs them with a dark cabin treatment. The 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic are shared with the rest of the range.

2025 Hyundai Palisade
2025 Hyundai Palisade SE
2025 is the final year of the first-generation Palisade and the SE carries over largely unchanged at $37,200, a $550 rise. The one small subtraction is that auto-dimming side mirrors are no longer standard on the base car. The 291-hp 3.8-liter V6, eight-speed automatic and nine-airbag cabin are all as before, and the SE is still the only Palisade with a second-row bench as standard.
2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL
The SEL is $39,950 for 2025, up $550, and remains the volume trim with heated front seats, proximity entry with remote start and a leather-wrapped wheel. It is the only 2025 Palisade that can be specified with either second-row captain's chairs or a bench, so it is also the only one that can be had as a seven- or an eight-seater.
2025 Hyundai Palisade XRT
2025 is the XRT's third and final year before the second-generation car replaces it with the more capable XRT Pro. It rises $1,250 to $43,050 but gains standard front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera. The recipe is otherwise unchanged: dark grille, black roof rails, dark 20-inch alloys, skid-plate-look fascias, a power sunroof and black faux-leather seats — appearance, not off-road hardware.
2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL Premium
SEL Premium is new for 2025 and fills the gap between the SEL and the Limited at $44,550. It bundles the equipment that used to require the Limited — a 12.0-inch navigation screen, leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and Highway Driving Assist — into a package that undercuts the Limited by roughly $4,000. Powertrain is the familiar 291-hp 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic.

The Limited moves to $48,600 for 2025, up $650, and keeps the full luxury spread: Nappa leather, heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, a heated third row that also power-folds, self-leveling rear suspension, a 12.0-inch navigation screen, head-up display, digital rearview mirror, 360-degree camera and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio.

The last first-generation Calligraphy lists at $51,000, up $650, and is the trim MotorTrend leaned on when the Palisade won its seven-way three-row comparison. Quilted Nappa leather, suede door inserts, a microfiber-suede headliner, a trim-specific grille and exclusive 20-inch wheels separate it from the Limited; an all-wheel-drive example ran 0-60 mph in 6.9 seconds.
2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition
In its second and final year the Calligraphy Night Edition tops the 2025 range at $54,500 and remains all-wheel drive only. It blacks out the grille, badging, mirror caps, roof rails and 20-inch wheels over the standard Calligraphy and pairs them with a dark interior treatment. The second-generation Palisade that follows for 2026 does not offer a Night Edition.

2026 Hyundai Palisade
2026 Hyundai Palisade SE
The 2026 SE opens the completely redesigned second-generation Palisade at $39,435, $2,235 above the outgoing car. The 3.8-liter V6 is gone, replaced by a 3.5-liter Smartstream V6 making 287 hp and 260 lb-ft through an eight-speed automatic. The body is 2.5 inches longer on a 2.7-inch-longer wheelbase, cargo behind the third row grows to 19.1 cubic feet, and every 2026 Palisade now carries ten airbags and a curved dual 12.3-inch display.
2026 Hyundai Palisade SEL
The SEL is $41,940 and is the first 2026 Palisade offered with a choice of seven- or eight-passenger seating at the same price — second-row captain's chairs or a bench, your call. It builds on the SE with more comfort and convenience kit while keeping the 287-hp 3.5-liter V6, eight-speed automatic and the option of retuned HTRAC all-wheel drive with Mud, Sand and Snow modes.
2026 Hyundai Palisade SEL Convenience
New for 2026, SEL Convenience slots $1,430 above the SEL at $43,370 and is a seven-seat-only configuration that bundles the most popular option group without stepping up to SEL Premium. Powertrain is the standard 287-hp 3.5-liter V6 with the eight-speed automatic and a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.
2026 Hyundai Palisade SEL Premium
Carried over from 2025 and repriced at $45,300 for the new generation, SEL Premium is the last stop before the Limited and, like the SEL, can be ordered as a seven- or eight-seater at no price difference. It uses the 287-hp 3.5-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic, and adds the upgraded interior trim and driver-assist content that used to be Limited-only.
2026 Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro
XRT Pro replaces the old appearance-only XRT and is the first Palisade with genuine off-road hardware. At $49,870 it is all-wheel drive only and adds an electronic rear limited-slip differential, an extra inch of ground clearance for 8.4 inches total, 255/60R18 all-terrain tires on dark 18-inch wheels, orange front and rear recovery hooks and Mud, Sand and Snow drive modes. Its EPA combined figure of 19 mpg is the lowest in the 2026 range.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited
The 2026 Limited is $49,770, a $1,170 rise over the outgoing car, and gains the new generation's power-folding, sliding and reclining heated third-row seats plus heated and ventilated power second-row seats. It is a seven-seater with a fascia-concealed factory tow hitch. Hyundai briefly halted sales of Limited and Calligraphy models in March 2026 pending a recall of the power rear seats.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
Calligraphy tops the gasoline range at $54,560, a $3,560 jump that reflects the new generation's midcentury-modern cabin, upgraded materials and expanded seat functionality. It is a seven-seater on the 287-hp 3.5-liter V6 and eight-speed automatic. MotorTrend named the 2026 Palisade a SUV of the Year finalist and beat the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse with it in a three-way comparison.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid SEL
The Palisade's first hybrid arrives for 2026 and the Hybrid SEL is its entry point at $44,160 in front-drive Blue form. A 2.5-liter turbocharged four is paired with two electric motors integrated into a six-speed automatic for 329 hp and 339 lb-ft — more of both than the V6 — and the front-drive Blue model is EPA-rated at 33/35 mpg. Towing drops to 4,000 pounds. Seven- and eight-passenger layouts cost the same.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid SEL Premium
Hybrid SEL Premium lists at $47,520 as a front-drive Blue model and keeps the same 329-hp turbocharged hybrid powertrain and 33/35 mpg rating. It adds the SEL Premium's upgraded interior trim and driver-assist content, and like the Hybrid SEL it is offered as a seven- or eight-seater at no price difference. All-wheel drive costs $2,000 and drops economy to 29/30 mpg.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Limited
At $51,990 the Hybrid Limited pairs the 329-hp turbocharged hybrid with the Limited's power-folding, sliding and reclining heated third row and heated, ventilated power second-row seats. EPA figures are 31/32 mpg with front-wheel drive and 29/30 mpg with HTRAC. Like the V6 Limited it was covered by the March 2026 stop-sale and power-rear-seat recall.
2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy
The Hybrid Calligraphy is the most expensive Palisade ever sold in the United States at $56,780, or $58,780 with HTRAC all-wheel drive. It combines the 329-hp turbocharged hybrid powertrain with the Calligraphy's midcentury-modern cabin, Relaxation seating and premium materials, and returns 31/32 mpg in front-drive form.
