Honda CR-V — Specs, Trims, Prices & Owner Reviews
The Honda CR-V is the compact, five-seat crossover that has anchored Honda's SUV lineup in the United States since the 1997 model year. It sits between the subcompact HR-V and the larger, three-row Passport and Pilot, and it is one of the highest-volume vehicles Honda sells anywhere — U.S. deliveries have run between roughly 240,000 and 400,000 units a year for the past decade, and the CR-V overtook the Ford F-Series and Toyota RAV4 to become America's best-selling vehicle in the first half of 2026. Most U.S.-market CR-Vs are built in North America, at East Liberty and Marysville in Ohio, Greensburg in Indiana, and Alliston in Ontario.

Honda CR-V: General Information
The CR-V's reputation rests on packaging rather than outright performance. Honda's low-mounted fuel tank and flat rear floor free up class-leading cargo volume and rear legroom inside a body that stays easy to park, and the interior is full of deep bins, a reconfigurable center console and rear doors that open to nearly 90 degrees. Power comes from small four-cylinder engines paired with a continuously variable transmission, with front-wheel drive standard and a Real Time all-wheel-drive system optional; the two-motor hybrid is positioned as the sportier, better-equipped half of the range and carries the Sport, TrailSport and Sport Touring nameplates.
Safety content is a core part of the pitch: the Honda Sensing bundle of adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, lane-keeping assist and road-departure mitigation is standard on every U.S. CR-V. The CR-V's usual rivals are the Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester, Mazda CX-5, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and Chevrolet Equinox.
Honda CR-V by model year
2015 Honda CR-V
2015 Honda CR-V LX
The entry CR-V and the first to use Honda's direct-injected 2.4-litre Earth Dreams four paired with a CVT, replacing the previous port-injected engine and five-speed automatic. Equipment is basic - 16-inch steel wheels, cloth seats and a four-speaker stereo - but a rearview camera and Bluetooth are standard. Front-wheel drive starts at $23,445.
2015 Honda CR-V LX AWD
The same basic LX specification with Honda's Real Time all-wheel drive with Intelligent Control, which sends torque rearward only when the front wheels start to slip. The AWD hardware costs $1,250 and one mpg in each EPA cycle. MotorTrend timed an AWD 2015 CR-V to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds.
2015 Honda CR-V EX
The volume trim adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a power moonroof, pushbutton start and a 7-inch Display Audio screen over the LX. It is also the point at which Honda's LaneWatch passenger-side mirror camera becomes standard for 2015. Front-drive EX pricing opens at $25,545.
2015 Honda CR-V EX AWD
EX equipment with Real Time all-wheel drive for $1,250 more than the front-drive car, with EPA ratings slipping to 26/32 mpg. This is the configuration MotorTrend used for its 8.5-second 0-60 mph run during the 2015 SUV of the Year programme, which the CR-V won.
2015 Honda CR-V EX-L
The leather-lined CR-V, with heated front seats, a 10-way power driver's seat with memory, a power tailgate and a seven-speaker 328-watt audio system. Honda's satellite-linked navigation is the only factory option, and the rear-seat entertainment package was dropped for 2015. Front-drive EX-L starts at $28,145.
2015 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
EX-L luxury equipment plus Real Time all-wheel drive, again a $1,250 walk from the front-drive car. Navigation remains a $1,500 stand-alone option, making a fully loaded EX-L AWD w/Navigation a $30,895 proposition just below the new Touring.
2015 Honda CR-V Touring
An all-new top trim for 2015 that supplants EX-L w/Navigation at the head of the range. Touring is the only 2015 CR-V with Honda's driver-assistance hardware - forward collision warning with Collision Mitigation Braking, lane departure warning with Lane Keeping Assist and adaptive cruise control - plus projector headlamps and turn-signal mirrors. Front-drive Touring lists at $31,645.
2015 Honda CR-V Touring AWD
The most expensive 2015 CR-V at $32,895, combining the new Touring safety and convenience package with Real Time all-wheel drive. It carries the same 185-hp Earth Dreams four and CVT as every other 2015 CR-V and returns 26/32 mpg.
2016 Honda CR-V
2016 Honda CR-V LX
The final year of the fourth-generation CR-V changed very little: Honda held the 185-hp Earth Dreams 2.4 and CVT and concentrated on the incoming 2017 redesign. The front-drive LX keeps 16-inch steel wheels, cloth seats, a rearview camera and Bluetooth, and now opens at $23,845.
2016 Honda CR-V LX AWD
LX equipment with Honda's Real Time all-wheel drive, a $1,300 step up for 2016. EPA ratings fall to 25/31 mpg. MotorTrend's instrumented run of the mechanically identical AWD car returned 0-60 mph in 8.5 seconds.
2016 Honda CR-V SE
A new-for-2016 Special Edition slotted directly above the LX, and the only trim genuinely new this model year. It swaps the LX's steel wheels for 17-inch alloys and adds appearance and security items for $800, but keeps the same 185-hp powertrain. The SE was a one-year-only trim and did not return for the redesigned 2017 CR-V.
2016 Honda CR-V SE AWD
The Special Edition with Real Time all-wheel drive at $25,945, still the second-cheapest way into a 2016 CR-V with four driven wheels. Like every other 2016 CR-V it uses the 185-hp Earth Dreams 2.4 and a CVT, and it disappeared when the fifth generation arrived.
2016 Honda CR-V EX
The mid-range EX carries 17-inch alloys, a power moonroof, Smart Entry with pushbutton start, a six-speaker system and Honda's LaneWatch passenger-mirror camera. It is also where the optional Honda Sensing collision-mitigation braking package becomes available. Front-drive EX opens at $26,095.
2016 Honda CR-V EX AWD
EX specification with Real Time all-wheel drive for $27,395. Fuel economy drops one mpg in each cycle to 25/31 mpg, and the CVT and 185-hp Earth Dreams 2.4 are shared with every other 2016 CR-V.
2016 Honda CR-V EX-L
Leather seating, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver's seat with memory, a power tailgate and a seven-speaker 328-watt audio system separate the EX-L from the EX. Navigation is the sole factory option. The front-drive EX-L lists at $28,545.
2016 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
The all-wheel-drive EX-L costs $1,300 more than the front-drive version and remains the sweet spot of the 2016 range. With navigation it reaches $31,345, still below either Touring model.
2016 Honda CR-V Touring
The range-topping Touring, introduced a year earlier, remains the only 2016 CR-V with Honda Sensing fitted as standard - adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation braking, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning - along with navigation, projector headlamps and turn-signal mirrors. Front-drive Touring lists at $32,195.
2016 Honda CR-V Touring AWD
At $33,495 this is the most expensive fourth-generation CR-V Honda sold in the United States, and the last of the line before the 2017 redesign. It pairs the fully equipped Touring package with Real Time all-wheel drive and returns 25/31 mpg.
2017 Honda CR-V
2017 Honda CR-V LX
The base trim of the all-new fifth-generation CR-V is the only 2017 model to keep the previous 2.4-litre naturally aspirated four, now rated at 184 hp. It rides on 17-inch wheels and makes do with a 5.0-inch display, a four-speaker stereo and no Honda Sensing. Front-wheel drive starts at $24,045.
2017 Honda CR-V LX AWD
The 2.4-litre LX with Honda's Real Time all-wheel drive for a $1,300 premium, still without the Honda Sensing suite. EPA ratings fall to 25/31 mpg, the thirstiest configuration in the 2017 range.
2017 Honda CR-V EX
The EX introduces the first turbocharged engine in CR-V history, a 190-hp 1.5-litre direct-injected four with peak torque available from 2,000 rpm. It also makes Honda Sensing standard for the first time on a non-flagship CR-V and adds a 7-inch Display Audio screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Front-drive EX opens at $26,795.
2017 Honda CR-V EX AWD
The turbocharged EX with Real Time all-wheel drive at $28,095, rated 27/33 mpg. MotorTrend's Real MPG test of an AWD turbo 2017 CR-V returned 21.9/34.2 mpg city/highway, and its instrumented AWD car reached 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.
2017 Honda CR-V EX-L
Leather upholstery, a power tailgate, an eight-speaker audio system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a memory driver's seat lift the EX-L above the EX while keeping the 190-hp turbo. Navigation is a $1,000 stand-alone option. The front-drive EX-L lists at $29,295.
2017 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
EX-L equipment with Real Time all-wheel drive for $30,595, or $31,595 with navigation. The 1.5-litre turbo and CVT are shared with the EX and Touring, and EPA ratings are 27/33 mpg.

2017 Honda CR-V Touring AWD
At $33,795 this is the most expensive 2017 CR-V and the configuration MotorTrend instrumented, recording 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds and a 60-0 mph stop in 115 feet. It combines the full Touring equipment list with Real Time all-wheel drive.
2018 Honda CR-V
2018 Honda CR-V LX
Honda made no significant changes to the CR-V for its second year on the fifth-generation platform, so the LX still uses the 184-hp naturally aspirated 2.4-litre four and 17-inch wheels. Honda Sensing remains unavailable on this trim. Front-wheel drive opens at $24,250, $205 more than in 2017.
2018 Honda CR-V LX AWD
The 2.4-litre LX with Real Time all-wheel drive, a $1,400 premium for 2018. EPA figures fall to 25/31 mpg, and like the front-drive LX it goes without the Honda Sensing driver-assistance suite.
2018 Honda CR-V EX
Stepping up to the EX brings the 190-hp 1.5-litre turbo, Honda Sensing as standard, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, 18-inch alloys, a moonroof and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The front-drive EX starts at $27,050.
2018 Honda CR-V EX AWD
Turbocharged EX equipment with Real Time all-wheel drive at $28,450 and EPA ratings of 27/33 mpg. Mechanically identical to the 2017 car MotorTrend timed at 7.5 seconds to 60 mph.

The EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power tailgate, an eight-speaker stereo, a four-way power front passenger seat and driver's-seat memory to the turbocharged EX. Front-drive pricing is $29,550.
2018 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
The all-wheel-drive EX-L costs $1,400 more than the front-drive car and is the only 2018 CR-V other than Touring that could be ordered with factory navigation, which lifts it to $31,950.
2018 Honda CR-V Touring
The 2018 flagship carries LED headlights, a hands-free power tailgate, roof rails, dual chrome exhaust tips, a nine-speaker premium audio system and standard navigation. Front-drive Touring lists at $32,750.
2018 Honda CR-V Touring AWD
At $34,150 the Touring AWD is the most expensive 2018 CR-V. It uses the same 190-hp turbo and CVT as the rest of the upper range with Real Time all-wheel drive, and returns 27/33 mpg.
2019 Honda CR-V
2019 Honda CR-V LX
The final year for the naturally aspirated CR-V: from 2020 the 1.5-litre turbo became standard across the range. Honda's only listed change for 2019 was a new Platinum White Pearl paint replacing White Diamond Pearl. The front-drive LX keeps 17-inch alloys, cloth seats, a 5.0-inch display and no Honda Sensing, from $24,450.
2019 Honda CR-V LX AWD
The 2.4-litre LX with Real Time all-wheel drive at $25,850, a $1,400 walk from front-drive. EPA figures of 25/31 mpg make it the least efficient 2019 CR-V, and like its front-drive sibling it goes without Honda Sensing.
2019 Honda CR-V EX
The EX is where the 190-hp 1.5-litre turbo, Honda Sensing and blind-spot monitoring all become standard, alongside 18-inch alloys, fog lights, a sunroof, heated front seats and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Front-drive EX starts at $27,350.

The EX-L layers leather upholstery, a power liftgate, an eight-speaker stereo, a four-way power front passenger seat, driver's-seat memory and an auto-dimming mirror onto the EX. Navigation is no longer offered here - it is a Touring exclusive for 2019. Front-drive EX-L lists at $29,850.
2019 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD
EX-L equipment with Real Time all-wheel drive at $31,250, rated 27/33 mpg. The IIHS gave 2019 CR-Vs a Top Safety Pick award, though LX, EX and EX-L models were rated only Marginal for their halogen headlights.
2019 Honda CR-V Touring
The 2019 flagship is the only CR-V with LED headlights - which earned the trim an Acceptable IIHS headlight score and full Top Safety Pick status - plus standard navigation, a nine-speaker premium stereo, roof rails, dual chrome exhaust tips and a hands-free power liftgate. Its cargo hold measures 37.6 cu ft behind the rear seat. Front-drive Touring lists at $32,850.
2019 Honda CR-V Touring AWD

2020 Honda CR-V
2020 Honda CR-V LX
The 2020 facelift dropped the naturally aspirated 2.4-litre engine entirely, so even the base LX now uses the 190-hp 1.5-litre turbo. Honda Sensing also became standard on every trim, meaning the cheapest CR-V finally gets adaptive cruise control and collision-mitigation braking. Front-wheel drive starts at $25,050.
2020 Honda CR-V LX AWD
The turbocharged LX with Real Time all-wheel drive at $26,550, a $1,500 premium for 2020. EPA ratings drop to 27/32 mpg. It is the only 2020 CR-V trim without LED fog lamps.

2020 Honda CR-V EX AWD

The volume hybrid at $30,260, just $1,200 above the equivalent petrol EX AWD. It adds 18-inch alloys, LED fog lamps, dual-zone climate, heated front seats and the 7.0-inch touchscreen to the hybrid powertrain, and keeps the 40/35 mpg EPA rating.

Front-wheel drive starts at $25,350, with Real Time AWD a $1,500 option.
2021 Honda CR-V Special Edition
A value trim Honda added part-way through the 2021 model year, slotting between LX and EX and offered only with the gas 1.5-liter turbo. Front-drive cars start at $26,550.

2022 Honda CR-V
2022 Honda CR-V LX
The last fifth-generation base CR-V, still running the 190-hp 1.5-liter turbo and a CVT with Honda Sensing standard. Nothing changes mechanically for 2022 — the only lineup news is that Touring becomes all-wheel drive only ahead of the 2023 redesign. Front-wheel drive starts at $26,800.

2024 Honda CR-V

2024 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid
New for 2024 and the year's only lineup change, the Sport-L slots between Sport and Sport Touring to give hybrid buyers leather without the flagship's price. It brings the 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone mirroring, wireless charging, a power tailgate, eight-speaker audio and Berlina Black 18-inch wheels. Front-drive cars start at $37,050.

The 2024 flagship, all-wheel drive only, with 19-inch two-tone wheels, leather, a 9.0-inch touchscreen and the exclusive 12-speaker Bose stereo. Its $40,200 sticker makes it the first CR-V to cross $40,000 before destination.
2025 Honda CR-V
2025 Honda CR-V LX
The 2025 CR-V is a carryover apart from one headline addition — the hydrogen e:FCEV — so the base LX keeps the 190-hp 1.5-liter turbo, a CVT and standard Honda Sensing. EPA revised the all-wheel-drive gas rating down a point this year, to 26/31 mpg. Front-wheel drive starts at $30,100 before Honda's $1,395 destination charge.
2025 Honda CR-V EX
The mid-grade gas CR-V adds blind-spot monitoring, a power moonroof, heated front seats, remote start, a power driver's seat and dual-zone climate control. Engine, transmission and cargo figures carry over from 2024. Front-drive cars open at $32,350.
2025 Honda CR-V EX-L
The top gas CR-V, with leather seating, a power front passenger seat, a power tailgate, a 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone mirroring, eight speakers and a wireless charging pad. It is the most expensive 1.5-liter turbo model for 2025 at $35,000 with front-wheel drive.
2025 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid
Entry point to the hybrid half of the range, with 204 hp and 247 lb-ft from the two-motor system and a MotorTrend-tested 7.6-second run to 60 mph. Front-wheel drive is standard and returns a class-leading 43/36 mpg. Starts at $34,650.
2025 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid
The mid hybrid, adding leather seating, driver's seat memory, a power passenger seat, the 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone mirroring, eight speakers and front and rear parking sensors. Front-drive cars start at $37,650 and still return 43/36 mpg.
2025 Honda CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid
The 2025 flagship, all-wheel drive only, adding built-in navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers and 19-inch wheels. Priced at $41,100 before destination.
2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV
New for 2025 and built at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, the CR-V e:FCEV is America's first production plug-in hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. A GM-Honda fuel-cell module and a 17.7-kWh battery feed a single front motor rated at 174 hp and 229 lb-ft, giving 29 miles of plug-in electric range and 270 miles in total. It is offered only in California and only on a lease, based on a $50,000 MSRP.
2026 Honda CR-V
2026 Honda CR-V LX
The 2026 refresh finally fixes the CR-V's weakest point: even the base LX now gets a 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a wireless charging pad. The 190-hp 1.5-liter turbo and CVT carry over, and AWD models get a retuned traction-control system. Front-wheel drive starts at $30,920 before Honda's $1,450 destination charge.
2026 Honda CR-V EX
The mid gas trim adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, a power moonroof, heated front seats, remote start and second-row USB ports. Powertrain is unchanged from 2025, though EPA drops highway economy by 1 mpg on front-drive cars and adds 1 mpg in the city on AWD models. Front-drive pricing opens at $33,150.
2026 Honda CR-V EX-L
The top gas CR-V gains the biggest single upgrade of the 2026 refresh: a 10.2-inch all-digital gauge cluster in place of the old part-analog display. It keeps leather seating, a power passenger seat, a power tailgate and eight-speaker audio. Front-drive cars start at $35,400.
2026 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid
Entry to the hybrid range, with 204 hp and 247 lb-ft from the two-motor system, a clutch-lockup single-speed transmission and 43/36 mpg in front-drive form. Like every 2026 CR-V it picks up the 9.0-inch screen, wireless smartphone mirroring and wireless charging. Starts at $35,630.
2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid
The first CR-V TrailSport and the first hybrid to wear Honda's off-road badge, added for 2026 and priced between EX-L and Sport-L. It is mostly a wheel-and-tire package — Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires on 18-inch Shark Gray alloys with standard Real Time AWD — plus Ash Green paint, orange exterior and cabin accents and amber ambient lighting. MotorTrend timed it at 7.4 seconds to 60 mph. Priced at $38,800 with AWD standard.
2026 Honda CR-V Sport-L Hybrid
The mid hybrid, adding leather seating, driver's seat memory, a power passenger seat, eight-speaker audio, front and rear parking sensors and a power tailgate. It keeps the 43/36 mpg front-drive rating and starts at $38,725.
2026 Honda CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid
The 2026 flagship, all-wheel drive only, and the only CR-V with Google built-in apps. It also gets navigation, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 12-speaker Bose stereo, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers and 19-inch wheels. Priced at $42,250 before destination.
2026 Honda CR-V e:FCEV
The hydrogen CR-V returns for 2026, still built at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio and still sold only in California. A fuel-cell module co-developed with General Motors works with a 17.7-kWh plug-in battery and a single front motor rated at 174 hp and 229 lb-ft, giving 29 miles of electric-only range and 270 miles in total. Honda's 2026 CR-V pricing announcement does not cover the e:FCEV, so no 2026 MSRP has been published.
