Honda Pilot: General Information
The Honda Pilot is Honda's largest three-row crossover SUV and has been sold in the United States since the 2003 model year, built alongside the Odyssey and Ridgeline at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama in Lincoln. The third generation (model code YF5/YF6, 2016-2022) replaced the boxy second-generation truck look with a sleeker, more aerodynamic body and a lighter structure. It made 280 hp from a direct-injected 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6, initially with a six-speed automatic on lower trims and a ZF nine-speed on the top grades. The fourth generation (YG1/YG2) arrived for 2023 on Honda's PF7 platform, stretching to 199.9 inches long on a 113.8-inch wheelbase. The entry-level 2015 Pilot pairs the 250-hp 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 with a five-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. For the second generation's final year Honda left the LX essentially unchanged, keeping tri-zone climate control, a rearview camera and Bluetooth as standard. 2015 Honda Pilot LX 4WD

2015 Honda Pilot SE 4WD

2022 Honda Pilot Touring AWD
The all-wheel-drive Touring lists at $46,870 as an eight-seater or $47,170 with second-row captain's chairs. It combines the Touring's LED lighting, navigation and rear entertainment package with i-VTM4 torque vectoring and 5,000 pounds of towing, at 19/26 mpg.
2022 Honda Pilot Elite AWD
The AWD-only Elite adds a dual-pane panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats and heated second-row captain's chairs, which make it a seven-seater. Those captain's chairs and the panoramic roof trim cargo volume slightly to 16.0 cu ft behind the third row. It lists at $50,370 for 2022.
2022 Honda Pilot Black Edition AWD
At $51,870 the Black Edition is the most expensive third-generation Pilot ever sold. It is an Elite dressed in black 20-inch alloy wheels, a black grille and black badging, with red ambient lighting, red contrast stitching and Black Edition seat badges inside. Sold only with all-wheel drive and seven-passenger seating, it left the range for 2023 and did not return until 2025.

The fourth-generation Pilot arrived for 2023 on Honda's PF7 platform with a new 285-hp DOHC J35Y8 V6 and a Honda ten-speed automatic replacing the old ZF nine-speed. The base LX gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, hill descent control and, for the first time on a Pilot, standard front knee airbags. Front-wheel drive opens the range at $35,950.

The Sport remains the entry trim with the carry-over 285-hp V6, ten-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, and starts at $42,195.

The TrailSport was reworked for the 2026 facelift and is the first trim in the walk with standard all-wheel drive. It keeps the all-terrain tyres on 18-inch wheels, off-road suspension and extra ride height, and adds a retuned electric power steering system, tow hooks, a trailer-hitch receiver that doubles as a rear recovery point, a 360-degree camera with off-road views and newly standard heated second-row seats. Brown leather with orange stitching is now available. It seats seven and lists at $50,395.
2026 Honda Pilot Touring AWD
The Touring is all-wheel drive only for 2026 — the front-drive version was dropped — and builds on the EX-L AWD with grey leather, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, multi-zone audio, heated second-row outboard seats, acoustic-laminated front side glass, enclosed fender liners and a hands-free power liftgate with walk-away closing. A 360-degree camera is now standard here too. It lists at $51,095.
2026 Honda Pilot Touring Blackout AWD
New for 2026, the Touring Blackout is essentially a styling package promoted to its own trim: it swaps the Touring's chrome for blacked-out badging and makes the 20-inch Machined Finish and Matte Black wheels standard. It costs $1,200 more than a Touring, at $52,295, which MotorTrend notes is $1,055 less than a Touring optioned with the same wheels and Black Emblem package.
2026 Honda Pilot Elite AWD
The Elite is where the Pilot feels fully loaded: black or brown perforated leather with Ultrasuede inserts and diamond stitching, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, rain-sensing wipers, puddle lights and auto-dimming power-folding mirrors. It seats eight and adds a 115-volt second-row power outlet. Pricing is $53,495.
2026 Honda Pilot Black Edition AWD
The Black Edition tops the 2026 range at $54,995. It is an Elite with black exterior trim, black interior details and exclusive Berlina Black 20-inch wheels; MotorTrend attributes the $1,500 premium over the Elite almost entirely to the black emblem treatment and those wheels. Standard paints are limited to Crystal Black Pearl and Solar Silver Metallic.
