Hyundai Ioniq 5 N — Specs, Trims, Prices & Owner Reviews

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the high-performance version of the Ioniq 5 and the first battery-electric car developed by Hyundai's N division. It was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023 and reached U.S. dealers as a 2025 model. Underneath it is still an 800-volt E-GMP crossover, but the body-in-white gains 42 extra weld points and 2.1 meters of additional structural adhesive, the subframes and motor mounts are reinforced, the track is widened and the roof is lowered — leaving a car 2.0 inches wider and 0.8 inch lower than a standard Ioniq 5, and without a front trunk because the larger front motor and an external speaker take up the space.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: General Information

Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces 601 hp and 546 lb-ft continuously, and up to 641 hp and 568 lb-ft for ten seconds when N Grin Boost is engaged. An 84 kWh battery — larger than the 77.4 kWh pack used in pre-facelift Ioniq 5s — feeds motors that spin to 21,000 rpm, and the car carries an electronic limited-slip rear differential, 15.75-inch front brake rotors with four-piston calipers and 21-inch wheels on Pirelli P Zero rubber.

What makes it unusual is how hard it works to feel like a combustion car. N e-Shift simulates the shift jolts of an eight-speed dual-clutch by modulating motor torque, N Active Sound+ pipes three sound themes through eight interior and two exterior speakers, and a drift-optimizer mode can even mimic a clutch kick. EPA range is 221 miles, top speed is 162 mph, and U.S. pricing has run from $59,900 to $66,200 before destination.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N N

2025 is the Ioniq 5 N's first model year in the United States, and it arrives as a single fully loaded $66,200 model with no options ladder. Its 84 kWh battery and two motors make 601 hp normally and 641 hp for ten-second bursts on N Grin Boost, enough for a 3.0-second 0-60 mph run in independent testing. Unlike the 2025 Ioniq 5 it keeps a CCS Combo charge port, and EPA range is 221 miles.

The 84 kWh battery, 641-hp N Grin Boost peak, 221-mile EPA range and 162-mph top speed all carry over unchanged.
