The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a battery-electric compact crossover and the first vehicle built on the Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated E-GMP skateboard platform. Early North American cars used a 58 kWh Standard Range or 77.4 kWh Long Range pack, with a single rear motor making 168 or 225 hp and an optional front motor lifting the dual-motor cars to 320 hp. A 2024 update added rear side airbags and a Disney100 Platinum special edition. For the 2025 model year the Ioniq 5 was facelifted and moved to Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia, gaining a 63 kWh Standard Range and 84 kWh Long Range battery, a native NACS charge port, a rear wiper, a physical climate panel and a new off-road-flavored XRT trim. The high-performance 641-hp Ioniq 5 N arrived alongside it as a separate model. For 2026 Hyundai cut prices sharply across the range.
What sets it apart is its 800-volt electrical architecture, which supports 10-to-80-percent DC fast charging in about 18 minutes, plus a Vehicle-to-Load system that turns the car into a 1.9 kW mobile generator. It earned a five-star overall NHTSA rating in its first three model years. 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range
Added a few months after launch, the SE Standard Range is the cheapest way into the first-year Ioniq 5 at $39,950. It uses a smaller 58 kWh battery and a 168-hp rear motor for 220 miles of EPA range, and it is rear-wheel drive only. Equipment mirrors the SE, so it still gets the 12.3-inch dual screens, heated front seats and Highway Driving Assist.

The SE steps up to the 77.4 kWh Long Range battery, good for a class-leading 303 miles in rear-drive form at $44,000. A second motor on the front axle raises output from 225 to 320 hp and cuts range to 256 miles. Standard equipment includes twin 12.3-inch displays, a heated steering wheel, the sliding Universal Island console and Hyundai's full Highway Driving Assist suite.
2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL
SEL is the mid-grade Long Range car at $46,250 in rear drive, adding leatherette upholstery, a power driver's seat with lumbar, a hands-free power tailgate, blind-spot view monitor and Highway Driving Assist II. All-wheel drive costs $3,500 and brings the same 320-hp dual-motor setup as the SE AWD.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition
A one-year-only collaboration marking Disney's centenary, the $59,400 Disney100 Platinum Edition is the most expensive 2024 Ioniq 5 and is offered exclusively as a 320-hp all-wheel-drive car. 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range
2025 brings the Ioniq 5's mid-cycle facelift and a move to Hyundai's new Metaplant America factory in Georgia. The SE Standard Range opens at $42,600 with a bigger 63 kWh battery that lifts range from 220 to 245 miles, and it is the first Ioniq 5 with a factory NACS port that plugs straight into Tesla Superchargers. A rear wiper, a physical climate control panel and a redesigned steering wheel are new across the line.

The Long Range SE moves to an 84 kWh battery for 2025 and now covers 318 miles in rear-drive form at $46,650 — the longest-legged Ioniq 5 yet. The $3,500 all-wheel-drive version keeps 320 hp but improves to 290 miles thanks to the bigger pack. Both get the NACS port and the facelift's revised cabin.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT
New for 2025, the $55,500 XRT is the off-road-flavored Ioniq 5 and comes only with the 320-hp dual-motor drivetrain. Hyundai raises ride height by 0.9 inch, fits 18-inch wheels on all-terrain tires, revises the bumpers to sharpen the approach and departure angles to 19.8 and 30.0 degrees, and adds front recovery hooks plus Snow, Sand and Mud terrain modes. The chunkier hardware costs range: 259 miles.

The $54,300 rear-drive Limited is the range-topping standard Ioniq 5 for 2025 and, at 318 miles, ties the SE and SEL for longest range. At $36,600 with destination it undercuts every other 300-volt-plus EV crossover in its class.

The Long Range SE falls more than $9,000 to $37,500 for 2026 while keeping the 84 kWh battery and 318 miles of range — the longest in the lineup. With the factory hitch it is the only 2026 Ioniq 5 with a published tow rating, at 2,700 pounds.
