The BMW X2 is the coupe-roofed counterpart to the X1, sold in the U.S. from the 2018 model year. It shares the X1's transverse front-wheel-drive platform but sits lower, with a chopped roofline, frameless doors on later cars and Hofmeister-kink roundels on the C-pillars recalling the 2002 turbo.
The first-generation F39 used a 228-hp 2.0-liter turbo four, front-drive as the sDrive28i or all-wheel drive as the xDrive28i. An M35i joined for 2019 with around 300 hp and a limited-slip front differential, making it one of the quickest four-cylinder BMWs of its day at under five seconds to 60 mph.
The second-generation U10 arrived for 2024, considerably larger — nearly eight inches longer — and all-wheel drive only, with a seven-speed dual-clutch replacing the torque-converter automatic. Luggage space rose to 25.3 cu ft and the M35i climbed to 312 hp. Every X2 seats five.
