BMW X5 M: General Information
The BMW X5 M is the full M-division version of the X5, and one of the fastest SUVs on sale in any generation. Two appear here, both powered by versions of the S63 twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with M xDrive all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic.
The F85 ran from 2015 to 2018 with 567 hp and a 4.0-second 0-60 mph time. The F95 replaced it for 2020 with 600 hp, or 617 hp as the Competition, dropping that to 3.7 seconds — quicker than most sports cars. From 2024 only the Competition remained, gaining mild-hybrid assistance.
There is no 2019 X5 M: the F85 ended with the F15 X5 and the F95 did not arrive until the 2020 model year. NHTSA returns no recall records for the "X5 M" model name, so recall history is not stated. Every X5 M seats five.
